Sometimes when searching for a booking, you might accidentally reset them to "standard" dates. It happened to me. They offered to return the extra insurance with them, but not the rent, since that was between me and the rental company and annulation was free until 48 hours before, but I found out after check in time. Which makes sense. Tip: if booking in Italy, see if you can get SicilyByCar as a company. They are cheap and have amazing reviews, whereas even companies Sixt has really bad ones. My personal experience with them has been good too.
