At first, Sundays Insurance might seem good their customer service is decent, but honestly, that’s true for most insurance companies. The real problem shows up when you actually need to make a claim, especially if you own a high-end bike.I had a crash on my Specialized S-Works SL8, which resulted in a cracked top tube. Instead of replacing the frame, Sundays Insurance insisted on repairing it simply because it was the cheaper option for them. Specialized offered me a crash replacement deal with a 35% discount on a new frame, but Sundays refused to cover that and forced me to go with the repair route. Here’s why that’s a big issue: once a carbon frame is repaired, you lose your manufacturer warranty. The repair shop only provides a limited warranty for their repair work, which is nowhere near the same as having a full factory warranty. If you have an expensive bike, I strongly recommend not insuring with Sundays. Their policy might sound good on paper, but when it comes time to make a claim, they’ll push for the cheapest solution rather than what’s actually best for you or your bike even if that means you lose your warranty or end up with a less valuable frame.
