I have been a STWC member since 2005. I have been fortunate enough to have had several different wine advisors, over the years , who have helped me get to know the wine which I now enjoy. . I have to say that my current wine advisor, John Lewis, has to be the best one yet! I feel I have been blessed to have acquired such a knowledgeable and friendly person, to talk to, at the other end of the phone , when I need to order some wine. We both appreciate good red wine and with his guidance, I know exactly which wines I like and also feel confident to try something new, now and again! I actually feel as if I know John personally as a friend, as well as him being my wine advisor , even though I haven’t met him , face to face Who knows, one day , I might get that opportunity!
I can personally recommend the Portuguese wines, if you haven’t already tried them , particularly the Reservas which are truly divine!
Meantime, I shall carry on enjoying my conversations with John and continue to look forward to receiving the best wines yet from the STWC/Laithwaites. Who needs Supermarkets?! Thank you John!
