Alberto of Surprice car rental Bergamo is acting like a thief. I know his name because when I collected the car he was actually very friendly, and I even asked for his name so I could leave a positive review. However, when I returned the vehicle, he suddenly tried to charge me €800 for a minor scratch — something that, based on other comments, seems to be standard practice at SurPrice. What makes this worse is that he openly bragged in Italian to his colleague (the bald guy) about how clever he was for giving me that specific car, saying that “everyone falls for it.” How do I know? Because my wife, who was standing next to me, is Italian — even though she doesn’t look like your “typical” Italian woman. When she confronted him, he claimed he was “just joking” and then told us he would not charge us for the supposed damage “this time” as long as we didn’t leave a negative review. This behaviour is absolutely disgusting. I strongly urge SurPrice to take appropriate action, although I doubt they will, as Alberto seems to be a perfect example of the predatory culture within this company.
