I had made the mistake of not disclosing a buildings claim that I thought was over 5 years ago when I had my quote from them. They emailed me to point it out and I rectified it on their online portal. I checked it twice to make sure it went through. They then emailed me a week later to say they were going cancel my insurance. I called to confirm what happened and they said once it was closed it was closed. I then tried to get insurance elsewhere but all my quotes were then twice the cost because I had had cancelled insurance. This was not my fault but the fault of the online portal and I am now being financially punished for it. Disgusting.

I'm now in the situation where nobody will insure us either for household insurance or motor insurance. Plus this will always be the case now as there's no statute of limitations on this. It's costing me hundreds extra in premiums.
I did what I was asked after a genuine mistake on my behalf and checked the portal twice to make sure it was on there but here we are. So upset about this.
