Review Time
I would strongly advise caution when using Swikly.
They claim the deposit is “only reserved” and not actually charged. That is misleading. The €250 deposit was taken from my credit card on January 6th for a stay in Paris (January 9–11, booked via Airbnb), and months later I still have not received my money back.
It was not a simple authorization hold — the amount was effectively charged and removed from my available balance. Did not get it back until now and no clear communication or timeline.
A deposit that is supposedly “just reserved” should not be held for months after checkout. This experience has been frustrating and disappointing.
I would not use this service again.
We were delayed on our way to our accommodation and needed to make a deposit. I attempted to use an Android device with the Firefox browser, without any special settings. I regularly use this device for various payments. However, it kept loading with the VISA or MasterCard logo for about 3 minutes before timing out. I tried three different cards, but none worked (one failed immediately). This wasted an hour of family time. If the service isn't functional on mobile devices, it would be helpful to inform users beforehand to avoid wasting time. It worked seamlessly on my laptop.
The process was satisfactory, but the time taken to notify that the security deposit had been closed (€2500) after returning the rental vehicle was unacceptably long (3 months!). It shouldn't take that long, especially since the vehicle was returned without any damage.

Not enjoyable at all. It's frustrating to spend the last part of your stay filling out lengthy inventory forms, taking photos and videos, and downloading them to an app. Additionally, the constant emails and requests from the management company were overwhelming and intrusive. While expectations were high for guests, the management and owner did not reciprocate. The unit was not clean; there were no extra sheets, towels, or trash bags available, and storage was almost nonexistent, with the owner's items crowding the only wardrobe. The €35 check-in fee felt like a scam, merely an extra charge for the key. This is unacceptable, especially since it's stated that all fees are included. In hindsight, I'd have preferred a hotel experience, which would have been larger and offered more amenities. After over a decade of using similar platforms, this was one of the worst experiences. Without the great location, I would have rated it a zero.
I will express my thoughts in English. We placed a deposit, and post-stay, the management claimed we had damaged the intercom system, which had never worked properly. This was quite inconvenient, as we had to call to enter through the main door with just one key. We ended up paying for this inconvenience. No one listened to our side of the story, and the amount was deducted. The apartment itself was lovely, but the deposit issue left a sour note at the end of a pleasant vacation.
