As part of a 3 week adventure to the scottish islands we booked all accomodation, ferries etc and eagily awaiting the trip. However the day before the final booking fee was due we received an email stating quite bluntly that the owner has declared the property as now unavailable. After eventually talking to customer support we are told that the owner can do this at any time. Obviously the consequences of suddenly finding you have not got anyway to stay is catastrophic with all other parts already paid for. They would not allow us to talk to a manager of any sort. It seems grossly unfair that if we decided not to go we would not get back our deposit and if the whole booking fee was already paid would not get our money back at all. Surely once a contract is made it should be honoured both ways not just in one direction. This owner should be ashamed of letting a trusting customer down this way. All bookers please be aware of this appalling get out clause of Sykes and owners
