To say l am profoundly disappointed with the recent experience I had at your store. On Christmas Eve, I purchased a $30 shirt and, to my knowledge, was not asked if I wanted a receipt nor was one provided to me at the point of sale. When I returned to the store seeking to exchange the shirt for a smaller size, I was informed that I could not do so without a receipt, despite having paid with my card. Furthermore, I was told that no exchanges or refunds are permitted without a receipt, even though the transaction was completed via card payment. The staff member mentioned that many customers had been turned away in recent days, which I find unacceptable.Given the timing during the festive season, I believe a reasonable grace period for exchanges would be appropriate, especially since I was not asked if I wanted a receipt in the first place. It seems concerning that Target’s policy now hinges solely on the possession of a receipt, which in many cases is not explicitly requested or provided. This appears to be a strategic move to limit returns and exchanges, possibly to boost record profits. This experience has led me to question the value of being a loyal customer of Target. I trust that you will review this policy and consider the importance of customer service and honesty during such a peak shopping period.
