I’ve used TaxAct before, and they rarely get it right, this year I became disabled and needed help with paying for my tax preparation so I signed up for IRS free file by the time I I ended my filing I was charged over $260.00 for filing fees after enrolling in IRS free file, then they tried telling me that the email address that they responded to many times did not exist, and I filed for two state returns due to my wife working in California while we were taking care of my sick cancer ridden 84 year old mother, each of the state charges were for 69.99 each even though the TaxAct website quoted 39.99 each charging nearly twice the amount published for my IRS Free File. Come on TaxAct!! Keep your prices updated and follow the free file rules, I did complain to the IRS about the charges along with disputing them with my bank.
