And we should have known better - we used them two year in a row. tldr: idea of a CPA preparing your return on a quick online platform is promising, but the Taxfyle platform and support is terrible and tax pro can't do anything about it. We couldn't even sign our return.--This year we received marketing offering us the same price as last year - about $300 for a 1040 with schedule C attached. You can go cheaper on do it yourself software, but the idea here is have a CPA or EA do it, and we liked that. However, they never honored the offer (after texting us marketing coupon codes for weeks). The coupon code literally failed. Reached out and the sales person said the best they could offer us was a 20% discount. We still did it, and then it got worse.Essentially their software platform is a place to upload documents and then you chat with a CPA who picks up your case. In each case, our actual preparer has been nice and efficient. However the software has been so bad. I got errors every time I logged into the account. I was unable to add banking information. I was unable to approve the draft.Their e-sign process did not work. The CPA was so used to it he told we probably wouldn't receive the emails, and we could go outside their platform and use Adobe to just sign the PDF and manually send it back. Which is what we did because even after opening 3 support tickets we got no response from Taxfyle (oh - except one where a person answered a WEEK later saying "are you still having this problem?" (Yes Matilda. Still having the problem. How about a troubleshooting question?).Would be 1-star, but the tax pros got things done despite Taxfyle, so we got our taxes filed.
