Bad experience from top to bottom. And we should have known better - we used them two year in a row. tldr: idea of a CPA preparing your return on a quick online platform is promising, but the Taxfyle platform and support is terrible and tax pro can't do anything about it. We couldn't even sign our return.--This year we received marketing offering us the same price as last year - about $300 for a 1040 with schedule C attached. You can go cheaper on do it yourself software, but the idea here is have a CPA or EA do it, and we liked that. However, they never honored the offer (after texting us marketing coupon codes for weeks). The coupon code literally failed. Reached out and the sales person said the best they could offer us was a 20% discount. We still did it, and then it got worse.Essentially their software platform is a place to upload documents and then you chat with a CPA who picks up your case. In each case, our actual preparer has been nice and efficient. However the software has been so bad. I got errors every time I logged into the account. I was unable to add banking information. I was unable to approve the draft.Their e-sign process did not work. The CPA was so used to it he told we probably wouldn't receive the emails, and we could go outside their platform and use Adobe to just sign the PDF and manually send it back. Which is what we did because even after opening 3 support tickets we got no response from Taxfyle (oh - except one where a person answered a WEEK later saying "are you still having this problem?" (Yes Matilda. Still having the problem. How about a troubleshooting question?).Would be 1-star, but the tax pros got things done despite Taxfyle, so we got our taxes filed.

Taxfyle has been on a slow death march.First cutting real-time resolution when utilizing intercom to some janky taxbot and 24/48 hr email follow-up…They dropped Intercom → lost real-time support and proper ticketing UXThey built their own bot → but don’t have a strong help center or case routingThey deflected too aggressively → users forced to emailThey broke the loop → support now takes 48 hours which is AWFUL for taxesThey probably automated before they documented → bot has nothing useful to sayAlso, the lack of quality of the pros is ridiculous. If you want an actual pro you have to pay even more. Wtf!?!Bugs with seeing documents. Nowhere to be found.

Unethical, Incompetent Thieves

I'd give 0 stars if I could. This company is very unethical. We are a CPA firm that was using their outsourcing model. We signed up for the start of the 2023 tax season (roughly December 2023). We took advantage of a prepayment discount and bought $60k of credit with them for tax preparation. The pros assigned to us were completely unreliable and incompetent. Many pros would be assigned and then never start any work or would indicate experience in software we used (Sureprep), when they didn't. We cycled through at least 10 pros assigned to our account. If they did work, they would often take over a month to complete a return, not complete the workpapers or give very poor work documentation (we paid extra for them to do this), or make egregious errors such as deducting owner distributions as "miscellaneous expenses", double deducting home office expenses, not being able to enter assets off a cost segregation study. They represented pros can complete foreign forms (5471, 3520), but in both cases we assigned those returns, they did the rest of return but not those forms. Communication was poor from both the pros and the customer relations team and ended up being full of empty promises.Ultimately we said enough is enough and requested cancelation and a refund of the unused contract amount. We indicated that we did not intend on walking away from money and that we fully intended to utilize the contract if cancelation wasn't an option. They agreed to cancelation. I asked about a refund and said they'd get back to me. A month later they indicated there would be no refund. So now, they are keeping the money and not providing the services! This is the exact scenario I told them I didn't want to be in. I even reminded this to them with the link of the Zoom recording of the conversations I had with them.Submitted credit card disputes. They're lying to AMEX indicating that they are still offering to provide services despite emails that the contract is canceled. Over $30k is overpaid based on what we paid versus work they did. Stay away from them.

6mons returns not prepared or filed

In Dec 2024, I purchased premium tax filing services from Rocket Tax, which uses TaxFyle. I uploaded all docs by early February. Since then, I’ve been assigned to a third tax professional, and unfortunately, no-one worked on my returns at all. I am tired of following-up, all excuses and lies but no commitment to get anything done. I’m expecting a huge refund, and I’m losing business opportunities due to the lack of funds.Deeply disappointed with this experience. It’s unprofessional and unacceptable. I don’t understand how they can be in business?
