I engaged the service three years ago, and they were quick to take my $15,000, but then everything came to a halt. They haven't even begun working on my resolution. There are no updates or progress reports from anyone. I was informed that my case was classified as a hardship, which meant I didn't need to pay anything as long as I maintained my income and filed my taxes on time. At 60 years old, I've never missed a year. Last year, they handled my taxes but failed to file them, resulting in a hefty fine. I reached out to the tax authority to check on my case since I hadn't heard anything from them. They had made no progress. I now have a lien on my passport, and nothing has been resolved—it's the worst tax resolution service I've ever encountered. Not only have they failed to assist me, but they've also added $40,000 in fees due to their negligence. I cannot trust anything they say. I received a certified letter from the tax authority indicating that my W-2 income was incorrect, leading to penalties with my insurance for misrepresenting my earnings. They haven't addressed that issue either. They do absolutely nothing.
The service has misled us as taxpayers in need of assistance with back taxes. We engaged their services over a year ago, paying a substantial fee for help that was never provided. We failed to file taxes on my husband's pension income during his first retirement year, unaware that it was taxable. After paying $2500 for their promised assistance, they did not fulfill their commitment to reduce our tax penalty. It feels like they exploit vulnerable individuals rather than offering genuine help. To make matters worse, their staff seemed uninformed about their own processes. Caution is advised! We sought their help in March 2023, but by December 2024, they canceled their representation without resolving our tax issue, which was supposed to involve a $3000 reduction in penalties. We received written confirmation of this reduction, but the IRS informed us that no such agreement was made. We paid $2400 for unfulfilled services and raised our concerns with their Quality Services Department, which assigned a manager to our case. Despite assurances, we received no further communication after submitting additional forms for penalty reduction. Ultimately, we were notified of the cancellation of services without any resolution. They were compensated for services that were never delivered.
Reaching out to the service to manage my IRS debt was a huge error. They charged me $7,000 and did not resolve any of the $24,000 I owe the IRS. Now my total debt has increased to $31,000. I feel scammed.
I really hope that my IRS situation turns out as well as my conversations went today. And I’m hoping that what they’re telling me they can do, they can actually do. Regardless, I’ve been putting this call off for several days because it brought so much stress. And then I started talking and ranting about the IRS and he just sat and listened and had empathy and compassion for my situation. Then I talked to the billing department who did exactly the same thing. I left the conversations feeling like they understood my situation. They felt bad for my situation, but more than that they were willing to help mefigure out a solution for my situation. I guess that’s probably the most important part. They didn’t have to be as nice as they were but they were very nice and thoughtful and I appreciated it today.
