Taylor Wimpey is a very bad company.
We bought the house in 2021.
We found the roof leaking after 4 years. It may have started leaking earlier.
The casing holding the PV Panels was installed improperly, and at least 4 long screws penetrated the felt. They are visible from inside, but the company just ignored them during the final inspection and delivered the keys to the buyers.
Taylor Wimpey sent the inspector on 16th Jan 2026 and confirmed the leak (case number 184382). I called them twice afterwards, but no decision and no email for 50 days.
I bought two houses with the company, and there are a lot of problems: both have leaking roofs. A leaking flat roof after a year of completion and a pitched roof after 4 years.
The bathrooms usually start leaking within 2-4 years. both houses.
Roof problems are only noticeable when you see a damaged ceiling. The repairs and replacements for felt and wood battens are very costly and usually require scaffolding; it's more complicated to deal with the roof with the PV panels.
If you have no choice but to buy their house, you'd better call an inspector to conduct an independent roof inspection, both inside and out.
