Incorrect result and nonchalant customer service!I bought the family kit for inheritance conditions, specifically interested in the result of Birt-Hogg-Dube, as a radiologist had recently raised suspicions from viewing a chest x-ray. A BHD patient needs to be monitored I various ways annually as 30% of BHD ppl will get malignt kidney cancer (at a much younger age (-20) her age than kidney cancer average for non BHD patients. So monitoring is crucial.The TellMeGen test came back negative for BHD. Which then led to an even bigger health scare as another strong option to my lung condition could be Tuberous sclerosis. But after months of test, via state health care, blood work came back positive for BHD and that is now my formal diagnosis. TellMeGen does not claim to be a tool for diagnosis, and they clearly only test for the most common known mutations per condition, NOT ALL, and in my case with the BHD it seems to be a Scandinavian/European strand of the mutation that is not included in the TellMeGen test. Just an FYI.But the reason why I write this negative review is mostly because when I reached out to TellmeGen to let them know that I have a BHD diagnosis and that their test clearly didn’t cover that mutation in their test, offering them more information so that they could include this into their test to avoid more ppl getting a false negative for BHD, not ever asking for a refund just offering information. They never responded. Which speaks volumes.If you are worried about something and am looking for answers. This company is not the answer.
