Loved the price, but was told the hotspot feature could be turned off and it could only be turned off for data, not wifi. Switched to another carrier who could deactivate it for both.
EDIT: I received the reply below from Tello via email. When Tello turned the hotspot off it was still able to be turned on on the phones. It did prevent data being shared, but still allowed Wi-Fi sharing. With the new carrier, I can toggle the hotspot off in my account for each number and it grays out the option for them to turn it on in their phones. So they are not able to share Wi-Fi at all.
I really wish Tello had offered that feature. Or at least had been clear about what “disabling the hotspot” meant with their service upfront.
