I cancelled my policy over the phone as I sold my car. There was a small balance of around £50 left to pay but Tesco couldn't take payment as their 'system was down' however the insurance was cancelled and the call ended. The next thing I know is that I have a debt collection agency (Moorcroft) chasing me via email and text message for money - when you follow the comms from them there is no description as to what the amount is for. A very aggressive approach from Tesco, plus they had my bank and card details on file so could have taken the payment just as they would if their system was working at the point of cancellation. Their online account management is confusing and hard to use and they charge for any amend made by phone when you can't figure out how to do it (it's deliberately made hard). They don't offer multi car and you have to have multiple accounts if you insure more than one vehicle. AVOID.
