I’ve applied for a disability bus pass for my son. He was diagnosed with autism March 2020. I sent his diagnosis letter in and a letter to say he was on the Special Educational Needs Register. I received a letter this morning to say you need further documentation. I rang TFGM and was told I need an up to date letter to say he’s still autistic and a recent letter to say he’s still on the SEN register ! I’ve rang the TACS Pathway (who diagnosed my son) to see if they can do this. They said they’ve never done or heard of this before as he’s still autistic. I rang TFGM again and explained, and the man was so rude and talked to me like I was stupid. Unfortunately, I was too angry to ask for his name. I’m trying to help my son become more independent and get the bus to school. I filled out the form, sent the necessary documents, but with autism and special needs, there is only the one diagnosis, he doesn’t get a yearly review or a letter to say he’s still autistic.
