TGI Fridays “Beyond Disappointing – Never Again” ⭐ 1 out of 5 – Appalling Experience at TGI Fridays, Reading (Caversham Road)If I could give 000 stars on this occasion I would! We booked a table at TGI Fridays, Caversham Road, Reading (RG1 8AJ) to celebrate my grandchild’s birthday — and it turned out to be one of the worst restaurant experiences we’ve ever had.Despite being a large family group of around 15 people, we were seated right next to the toilets, where the smell was awful. That alone was unacceptable, but it got worse. The music was deafening — so loud that even the manager taking our order couldn’t hear us, and we couldn’t hear one another across the table.Two members of our group are disabled and on the autism spectrum, and the extreme noise triggered distress and sensory overload. I politely asked the manager to turn the volume down. He pretended not to hear me, so I called him aside to repeat the request. His response was shocking — he said, “If you don’t like it, then leave.”That is exactly what we did. We left the restaurant humiliated and with a ruined birthday celebration for a child who had been looking forward to it for weeks. As we walked out, the music was still blaring, and the manager even threatened to call the police — for simply asking for a reasonable adjustment.This level of rudeness, hostility, and complete disregard for customers with disabilities is disgraceful. The atmosphere was chaotic, the staff indifferent, and the so-called manager completely unprofessional.TGI Fridays has clearly lost all sense of customer care. I would never return to any of their restaurants again. Loud, unpleasant, overpriced, and insensitive — a chain that should be ashamed of the way it treats families and disabled guests. I will certainly be bringing this to the attention of the Equality Act.Avoid this place at all costs.
