thesaleroom.com need to vet the auction houses on their website more carefully. I have just been stung by an auction house which misrepresented the lot I bought. I found out after the event that this auctioneer has dreadful reviews online for doing exactly to that to many, many people. I asked thesaleroom.com to intervene and stop anyone else being taken in by this. But they forwarded my email to the auction house who came back with a very rude reply. They then refuse to help anymore. Bizarrely, as a buyer you have more protection on eBay than by using thesaleroom.com. The directors of this company must be on notice that their site is enabling scammers - isn't this an offence?
