Like hundreds of others here, I was tricked into paying £39.95 after what was clearly presented as a £0.95 7-day trial. The checkout page shows the “Pay and Download My File” button fixed at the bottom of the screen, so it’s possible to pay without ever seeing the tiny print that mentions a recurring monthly charge.I never gave informed consent to a subscription, and when I asked for a refund they refused, citing a “non-refundable policy.” Under UK consumer law, that’s meaningless – traders must make recurring costs clear and unavoidable before payment. Hiding it below the visible area is a misleading omission and a breach of the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008.The company has now cancelled my subscription, but still kept my £39.95. I’ve reported this to Trading Standards and the CMA as a textbook subscription trap.
