I am writing this review to highlight a series of inappropriate behaviors and decreasing professionalism at a particular establishment, so others can grasp the ongoing issues rather than viewing this as an isolated event. I resided at this place for approximately two years. For a significant portion of that time, it was a decent living environment. The staff were courteous and professional, and I had no concerns. However, problems arose after changes in the on-site staffing and management. How It Began The situation started with rude and mocking behavior from a staff member. During an encounter in the building, she made derogatory comments about my attire and ridiculed my laugh. This occurred in a communal area and felt disrespectful rather than playful. Believing in addressing issues directly, I later sent her a composed message clarifying that her remarks about my shirt, the mockery of my laugh, and her dismissive behavior were unacceptable to me, and I expected basic courtesy moving forward. Instead of improvement, the behavior escalated. Derogatory and Personal Comments Following this, the staff member made belittling comments about me, including remarks like “look at him, he thinks he owns the place,” simply because I greeted others politely. What should have been normal, friendly behavior was met with hostility. Additionally, there was an uncomfortable pattern of repeated personal inquiries. On several occasions, she asked me questions such as “Am I pretty?” and “Do I look pretty?”. These unsolicited comments were unrelated to her role, and I did not encourage them, making me uncomfortable. Such repeated personal remarks crossed professional boundaries and created a negative atmosphere. Management Response and Escalation I brought these concerns to the attention of the on-site manager, but felt my issues were downplayed rather than adequately addressed. Consequently, I had to escalate the matter to the regional manager. To his credit, the regional manager intervened appropriately. After his involvement, staff behavior noticeably improved, indicating that my concerns were valid. For a time, things returned to a professional standard. While I was still living there, I was also approached by other residents who independently expressed similar grievances about the same staff member, confirming that this was not an isolated incident. Final Incident – 8 January On January 8, after moving out on January 1, I returned to the building around 9:55 a.m. to collect my mail and wait briefly before a 10:10 a.m. haircut appointment with my barber, who operates a business on the first floor. While waiting near the dining area, I was again approached by the staff member in a confrontational and unnecessary manner, despite my legitimate reasons for being there. The interaction upset me enough that I decided to leave immediately. As a result, I missed my haircut appointment, which caused a loss of business for the barber, and left without dining, likely impacting the restaurant as well. This occurred after earlier regional intervention, suggesting that the underlying issues had not been resolved. Overall Impression The atmosphere at this establishment has changed significantly. What was once a welcoming and professional environment now feels uncomfortable when concerns are raised. The fact that behavior improves only after regional intervention, and later resurfaces, indicates deeper management issues. Until management: - Enforces professional boundaries consistently
