It was ok

It was ok. I bet it’s an absolute nightmare to run due to the sheer volume of visitors, which is to be expected. Treat it as a tourist attraction as opposed to a pub and you’ll enjoy yourself. Went on a bog standard Thursday and it was pretty busy. Was pushed to park in the overflow carpark which is £2 to subsidise its usage due to the farmer giving up his field. Strangely there were more than enough spaces on the actual carpark when we walked to the pub. Managed to get seats in the bar, the beer was nice, if a little pricey. But what do you expect. I didn’t eat much as I’m a Heathen Vegetarian, however did share chips which were very nice. Some of our party had sausage rolls, which they said were very nice but expensive at £6. We saw burgers come out which apparently looked nice but not big for the £14 being charged. Overall it is what it is. The principal behind it is there but it was always going to turn into a circus given it’s links to a TV show and big celebrity. Lots of fans taking selfies for social media and buying Merchandise with logos on them to tell everyone they’ve visited. I don’t get all the 1 star reviews, do they really think it was going to be perfect given its background? If the hysteria surrounding it ever goes away it could be a cracking place. Until then, go prepared for crowds, queues, hysteria, and social media hungry individuals and see how you get on.
