Signature mishap on unseen contract!

We encountered an issue with power tripping. The electrician was prompt and polite, stating urgent work was needed in the meter box and promised to send a quote via email. However, when he took my credit card details for a deposit, I mistakenly thought my signature was for the transaction—$550. He did no actual work but arranged to return later. That afternoon, I received a quote and a contract with my signature pasted onto it! A second electrician confirmed that no urgent work was necessary. I emailed for a refund of the difference, but received no response. I'm investigating the legality of this signature situation.

Look for better options

We previously used this service to inspect some wiring. They claimed our fuse box was outdated and quoted $2000 for repairs. After experiencing issues with a fuse, I called in other electricians who found the parts used were subpar and the price I paid was excessively inflated—one even quoted $600 for the same work. I expected better quality for that price, but they cut corners. Fortunately, the electrician who quoted $600 resolved the issue for free. My advice: discard their promotional materials and explore other options; their pricing is not justified.

Level 2 electricians often charge exorbitantly, but this electrician in the area is quick to arrive, efficient in completing the job, and not overly expensive. Highly recommended.
