I really wanted to like these as whilst I love how comfortable my Speedo Biofuses are, I was fed up with the panda eyes and cut out into my nose bridge my Speedo’s were creating for me. But after one swim with my Magic5’s it looked like I’d been hit in the face in both eyes, the rubber gasket seal is sharp and uneven (look like they’ve been cut out by a child - how did these pass quality control alone?). Instead, other goggles have smooth, wide gaskets that sit against your face not cut hard and deep into your skin along the gasket edges. Added to this, the lenses are so small, it felt like my eyes were going to pop out into the goggles. No matter how I adjusted them, tighter, looser, my swim was constantly interrupted having to readjust and to empty out the water leaking through at pace. My Speedo’s never leaked. When I loosened the strap, the Magic5’s simply slid off. When I tightened them, they just got more painful and yet still kept letting in water. As regards the strap, I tried all sorts of positions and nothing worked. The lenses themselves whilst they didn’t fog for me, glared so badly. I have a giant skylight in my local pool and when the sunlight got very bright at midday, the lenses let in so much light that they blinded me and again forced me to stop (I have the Pink Magic Mirror version). Yes, that’s right, mirror.These are quite simply the worst goggles I have ever owned and fail in every aspect. I am deeply gutted that I spent so much money on them as I understand that the returns policy is nasty, especially if you live in the UK (you have to pay postage back to New York to return the damn things). I’ve head from other reviews that communications with customer service is nothing short of awkward ‘oh it’s your fault, you’re not wearing them correctly’. That’s not a company that listens to its customers and stands by its product quality, rather an insecure company that’s determined to pay for reviews online and refuse returns as much as possible. I lost a good swim session and £70. No I definitely do not recommend these and I really don’t understand how other people do. This is a real scam. Note: I’ve since bought a pair of Aqua Sphere Kayenne Pro’s and the difference is night and day, as comfortable as my Speedo Biofuse but far far fewer marks / goggle eyes and certainly nothing like my Magic5’s. The Magic5’s deserve the bin.
