Calm setting

Calm setting, which made me feel at ease during my medication transition. I had all questions answered and I feel comfortable to talk and share my journey. I have consistent contact with my prescriber, who I am able to contact when needed. This has made a big difference and keeps my anxiety at ease knowing I can ring or email if I need support.

Months with no confirmation or meaningful communication

I was referred to The Owl Centre via my GP in August 2025 under the NHS Right to Choose pathway. My GP practice has confirmed that the referral was sent successfully and has provided evidence of this.Despite this, over five months later I have still not received confirmation that my referral has been received or logged on their system. I have chased the service multiple times and eventually received a response stating that they could not yet see me on their system, could not provide any indication of waiting times, and that the referral may still be “in processing”.I understand that demand for Right to Choose services is high, but the lack of basic acknowledgement of receipt, transparency, or meaningful communication over such a long period of time has been extremely disappointing and stressful. As a patient seeking neurodevelopmental assessment, clear communication and reassurance are particularly important, and this has been lacking throughout.Due to the prolonged delay and poor communication, I have lost confidence in the service and have decided to pursue assessment via my local NHS service instead, despite longer waiting times.I would urge the service to improve communication with patients, particularly around confirming receipt of referrals and providing clearer information about what stage referrals are at.

After a long wait with the NHS

After a long wait with the NHS, we decided to go down the right to choose option and selected the owl Theropy CentreOnce we got things underway, we could finally see of the light at the end of the tunnel for my son’s journeyMy son was included in the appointments and was given options to speak freely and given choices very clear communication for my son and all questions was answeredMy son now has improved behaviour and has settled at school and improving every day. This was definitely down to the help of the health Centre.

100% recommend Kevin King

Kevin has been our neurodevelopmental assessment nurse through this process. He is a kind and compassionate person who was able to put my son and I at ease immediately. He made good use of the data we sent through before our meetings and listened carefully to what my son would say so as to support my son accordingly. I have been really impressed.

ADHD assessment was incredible

Had an assessment this week with an ADHD Nurse called Ben.He really helped me be at ease throughout.I had a 2 hour assessment which overran, but I put my heart on my sleeve and it never felt draining. He was very accomodating and explained everything so well.Between the assessment and a diagnosis call he properly kept me in the loop on what was needed and what to expect.I can't fault his profesionalism, care, compassion and the way he ckeraly managed my expectations of what he could and couldn't do and what the onward journey may look like. Also incredibly GP referral was done September 25 so to be assessed and diagnosed within 4 months is incredible.

Nightmare!

Trying to get my diagnosis and medical notes from this company is like getting blood from a stone. My doctor has had no luck either. Calls, emails and letters go unanswered. I have now made a complaint.
