I had to make a very difficult decision of having my beloved German shepherd put to sleep as she had a neurological disease of the spine so her back legs were almost at the stage of not being able to stand. And couldn't see her suffer anymore. So made the appointment on Tuesday the 10th for the following Saturday at 11am. Yes we did turn up a little early as didn't know how bad the traffic would be. We were seen straight into the St Francis sweet. So far so good, 5 past 11 came and went and so did the next 20 minutes with absolutely no communication from anyone until my wife went out to ask. Then this turned into the worst and as you can probably imagine traumatic experience as we had only been here a month before for our other dog storm to be put to sleep so was still very raw. So we finally got to 11.25 so I walked out the front to find out was was going as we had booked this appointment just to make it less distressing. We were then told the that the vet was in a consultation ( why would you book another appointment when someone has already booked as we had for this sad time) and only have one vet. Surely it would be best to not book an appointment before or after an appointment of someone saying goodbye to the best friend or is it like other reviews say that it all about how much money you can extort out of people in such a vulnerable time. When the vet finally came in not even so much of an apology for being half an hour late. Yes the next part went as well as it could. We were then left to say our goodbyes to our beautiful companion, best friend who gave us so much love for 11 years. Then we said we didn't want to leave her alone so could they come in and take her to which she was put on the blanket. Then the most horrible thing happened they just dragged my dog out of the room scuffing her along the floor out the room like a piece of meat. How dare you treat my dog in such a disrespectful way. Absolutely fuming. Then we had to pay for this shoddy traumatic experience over £400. Yes we were asked if we wanted receipt which we said no just the emailed one would do. And guess what still haven't got that. How can our first experience be so different from a month before for our other beloved pet. How can you get this so wrong.
