During my initial selection regarding my trademark, I selected to trademark both my name and my logo. I have documentation showing this. I was then asked during the zoom call with the trademark company if I was indeed trademarking the name and the logo I responded yes. I then receivedan email that specifically mentions design Only and not the name.. I called the trademark company to inquire about this and they confirm that I only submitted a trademark application for my logo. And if I wanted my name trademarked, they could help me with that right away and it would be an additional $300 to them in $350 to the state! This is extremely frustrating because I’ve confirmed twice of exactly what I intended to do which was submit an application for my name as well as my logo. I was told that I could receive a $100 discount off of their $300 fee and I would then have to pay $350 to the state for a second application. I’m a small business owner that has budgeted for this and to be told that I need to now pay more, when two companies dropped the ball is ridiculous! There was no misunderstanding on my end. I stated exactly what I needed twice and was given something totally different. If I could have chosen between the two, I would have 100% trademarked my business name and not the logo! I would appreciate if someone would follow up with me so that we can figure out what you are going to do to make this situation right. Thank you.
