What a relief, they have refunded me at last! After hearing many excuses, being passed from pillar to post, countless emails and phone calls, and finally threats from me (lawyers in Scotland and England, social media, Rip Off Britain), my deposit on a contract I cancelled the day after I had signed it has been returned to my account. Many charities appear to be using a third party outfit that passes (sells?) the personal details of people who are interested in a free will-writing service, to the likes of Thomas Bradley + Co who do not appear to employ any qualified solicitors at all. It seems to me that they are basically a call centre. Whenever I phoned them, the responses were the same, blaming another department, whoever I spoke to. It was like listening to a broken record, if anyone remembers those. It appears to me that their main target audience is the elderly, hoping they simply give up, tire of complaining, or die, before deposits are repaid.
