A warning for anyone thinking of flying with this airline. On December 30, I took a flight from Tokyo to Taipei. Since the airline doesn't allow checked baggage purchases within 4 hours of departure, I couldn't add baggage before arriving at the airport. To make matters worse, their website was incredibly difficult to navigate, and I couldn't reach customer support due to their automated system. At the airport, I was quoted over $400 for one checked bag and one carry-on. After discarding personal items to reduce weight, I still had to pay $292.17 to board. For comparison, the same baggage would have cost around $80 if bought online earlier. What frustrated me even more was a staff member's dismissive attitude, saying, 'this is not my problem.' My girlfriend was singled out to re-weigh her bag, while others were not treated the same. I tried to reach out to them afterward, but they claimed it would take 4 hours to process a bag for a credit card transaction online, yet they could process payments at the airport up to 30 minutes before the flight. This isn't just poor service; it's a forced charge due to inconsistent policies. I share this to help other travelers make informed choices. I will not fly with this airline again.
