Watch went for repair, and I never saw it again

I am so disappointed in Timex. I bought a watch in August 2019 and it stopped working after I went for a swim at the beach in June 2020. I sent emails and only got a reply in September, conveniently after the 1-year date of purchasing the watch. Asked for a new watch and was told I had to send it to be repaired. I sent it. A month after I'm told they can't fix it and don't have the same model, so I have to pick another model. I said I don't want another model and asked for a refund. Was told I would be given a refund, only to receive another email after 4 days saying that after all I won't be given a refund. My only choice, they say, is to take another watch for the same price. I've had Timex watches since I was a teenager and I never expected this company to treat customers like this. They simply stopped caring.
