I wanted to learn some makaton due to working in a nursery, one of my key children who is 3 has downs syndrome and communicates solely using makaton. She tries to communicate and I have no idea what she was trying to say so I wanted to do a makaton training. I can confidently say after this training from Tasha I am now going to be able to understand what my key child is trying to communicate and I can communicate back to her in makaton which is amazing. My confidence in using makaton was at 0 before this course, and its now a 10!! Tasha delivered the course in such a brilliant, fun, interesting and interactive way, praising encouraging and supporting us when needed. She is approachable when we needed help/to ask questions, and I thoroughly enjoyed learning makaton level 1 with tasha. She is brilliant and I highly recommend!! I am a Makaton tutor based in Derby. I have been using Makaton now for nearly 16 years so I was able to communicate with my son. I became a Makaton tutor in July 2025 after finding a passion of using it through music. I now endeavour to help families all over the UK communicate with their children and make professional settings more inclusive for our SEN community.
