Update TopCv offers a 60pc refund. In the end my card issuer offered a charge back - buyer beware!Update 05/11 issue still not resolved. Dylan has confirmed tough these are the terms and conditions and only a rewrite is possible..there is not attempt at resolution which is a refund.I paid £139 for TopCV’s “Professional Growth CV Writing Package” + LinkedIn add-on, expecting a bespoke, personalized CV written by an expert. Instead, what I received was clearly AI-generated: generic language, repeated buzzwords, and even inappropriate emojis—completely unprofessional.TopCV’s response (3 Nov 2025) was revealing:“We are unable to provide a refund. Our Editorial team checked the documents, and it meets our standards.” So their “standards” include passing off AI-generated CVs as professional work.This confirms what numerous independent reviews decry:“The CV was clearly AI-generated, with minimal personalization.” (Trustpilot, Oct 2025)“ChatGPT-level work with no real edits, despite promises.” (Sitejabber, May 2025)“Robotic replies, refusing refunds for poor work.” (Tenereteam, Jun 2025)The pre-purchase teaser email even warned AI CVs are often rejected—yet TopCV hides their use of AI in sales and FAQs.Poor aftersales support, refusal to refund, and blatant misrepresentation make this a cautionary tale. I lost trust in TopCV and will pursue Section 75 chargeback and legal advice.If you value your money and career, avoid TopCV. The “professional” CV you pay for may be nothing more than an AI template.
