Toyota Corolla Hybrid. Prospective Buyers need to be made aware of just how bad this car is. According to Toyota UK, 'If the vehicle is left unused for extended periods, the battery may discharge to a level where the hybrid system cannot start.' Further questioning reveals that for Toyota an extended period is defined as FIVE DAYS. So if you go away for a week's holiday there is a very good chance that the car will not start! They recommend 'running the vehicle for about 1 hour once or twice a week.' The redeeming feature of this car is it's economy but this is mitigated by the need to make constant unnecessary journeys just to keep the battery charged and one further comment. Because of the transmission system used in this car, 'bump starting' is not an option
