Retired to rural California nearly 15 years ago. I like to support local businesses so I've done business with TSC on a few occasions. The nearest store is 10 miles away, so Home Depot and Lowe's are more convenient. Even so, I have paid a visit to TSC several times a year. I find their product selection limited and prices so high as to not be competitive. I can order online, but, again, their shipping prices are prohibitive.Today I read that they are caving into pressure from conservatives to stop playing politics. As a result, they are retreating from their DEI statement and efforts to curb carbon emissions. Uh, isn't that playing politics as well?Anyway, I'm a gay man, so I guess they no longer want me to even consider doing business with them. It's like this: if you aren't inclusive, then you're exclusive. As Robert Frost wrote: Before I built a wall I’d ask to know what I was walling in or walling out...Ironically, as seen in numerous comments here, the very people they hoped to appease (i.e., people with a narrow view of humanity) are riled up and planning to boycott because they got what they wanted. Typical.
