AON Trip Protection Insurance - which is offered by Road Scholar - wears you down. I am now on my fourth "contact us in 10-12 days" message from AON about my June 23 submission. My American flight was delayed 24 hours (that's not a misprint) and cancelled. I missed my two-week hiking vacation in England. Three weeks later, AON required a letter from American confirming the length of delay and cancellation. On July 24, I submitted that letter from American. It is now going on six weeks and still no word from AON. A suggestion for improvement: 1) Require the letter from the airline in your initial request for documents since this is standard procedure, I was told. This might prevent the unsatisfactory delay in reimbursement that I am experiencing now, 74 days after my initial submission.2) Do not outsource your calls to reps in Philippines. Two of my calls were directed there. One person was unable to understand my issue. The other gave me wrong information on what would be satisfactory documents to submit. I'm still waiting.
