My wife and I wanted to open a joint account at Triodos because it doesn't invest in fossil fuels. However our attempt failed because either a driving licence or a passport is required and my wife has neither. A telephone enquiry confirmed that without such identification it is not possible to open an account.It seems ironic that a bank with such high ethical principles is unable to accommodate a potential customer who neither drives a car nor travels abroad.
