I decided to go with Trivago since they had found the best price for a hotel for me. I'm currently in a situation, where saving money is critical.
Unfortunately, the missing and misleading information made me pay for a hotel room that was unusable for me.
At the check-in I discovered the hotel was in renovation, it was disgusting, huge dumpsters outside, loud, cheap, dirty, ragged, old, broken... suddenly, I was informed that additionally to the hotel room price that was FAR too high, I was supposed to pay a $100 deposit! FOR WHAT??
There was not even one word about any deposit on Trivago!
If I had the money for that, I wouldn't have booked a room in that dump!!
I couldn't pay the deposit, so despite having booked AND PAID I couldn't use the room, which should have given me the privacy to do some confidential computer work and make some money, which, of course I lost, too.
And despite their misinformation and the fact I couldn't use the room Trivago refuses now to refund my money!!!
According to them it's my fault! And their policy...
Well, they will face legal consequences now. I've had it to be used like this. Life is hard enough without multimillion dollar corporations stealing money, thinking their policy is above the law!
