Be very careful when buying from Troostwijk Auctions. Missing a pick-up window can cost you hundreds of euros even if you receive nothing.
I am a private buyer from Germany and won two lots in the Netherlands (A1-42351-79 and A1-42351-80). I paid the invoice immediately and arranged a transport company because each item weighed about 165 kg.
Unfortunately, the transport company could not find the address and missed the single(!) 4-hour pick-up window. The notification email the transport company went to my spam folder, so I did not know about the problem.
One week later I received a cancellation email and a penalty. I contacted support and even offered to drive from Germany to the Netherlands the same day with a trailer to collect the items myself. This was refused and I was told a new pick-up was not possible.
Result:
• Total price of the two lots originally: €1,871.87
• Penalty charged: €692.12
• Items received: none
What disappointed me most:
• No clear notification that the pick-up was missed
• No phone number on the pick-up documents to contact anyone on site
• Emails to support were never answered
• No attempt to find a solution
My advice to future buyers: never miss the pick-up window under any circumstances. Even if you try to fix the situation, you may still lose a large amount of money and receive nothing.
