I'm very disappointed at the treatment and shame I experienced at Earthchild east rans mall. I went to collect my online order o323500578, I showed the lady at the till the order message for my order number and she asked for my ID which I explained to her I did not have my ID with me and that I always collect my orders in store and I have never been asked for my ID. I then asked her if I can show her my ID copy from my phone. She took my phone and check the ID. She then wear to check for my parcel and on her way she was busy assisting other customers and I asked another lady if she mind to attend to my parcel as the other lady is now busy with other customers. The lady that was supposed to be checking for my parcel responded rudely that what must she do because those other customers are on her way so she must assist them. While checking she is busy chit chatting with the manager and laughing. I observed and just decided to keep quiet but the service is disheartening and unprofessional especially at a busy weekend like black Friday. The reason one buys online is because you don't want to experience staff attitude and waiting unnecessary. She then came with the parcel and as I opened the parcel I realized that the bag was too small to use for a grade 5 learner.i then asked to exchange or return it to a bigger bag for school. She called her manager to authoriser. Who came and they continued to chit chat and laugh and make jokes while I'm waiting. They asked me for a carf and I explained I used a virtual card, I was then asked for an actual card. I asked the manager of the payment will reflect immediately as I needed to use the money. She said it will only reflect after a day. I asked her why does it take that long to receive a refund but when I pay it's instant. I was from work and was wearing my work uniform. She then responded by saying but why when it's my work company they take long to refund them. I asked her what does she mean regarding my work company is it because she is shaming me as a customer for the fact that im wearing my work uniform? She continued and continued to be rude and disrespectful at me. I have never been so embarrassed wearing my work uniform by a person who is in the service industry. The staff does not have name badges worse. I had to ask her for her name. Her name is Mpho. I request a formal apology from Mpho for shaming the company I work for just because I went shopping wearing my work uniform before I take this further. I will not be buying from Earth child east rand mall after this bad experience. I will escalate this matter if it is not resolved. The staff needs training and coaching on now to carry themselves at work and how to address customers professionally.
