I was surprised to see an empty but claimed Trustpilot profile as the website advertises 4.8 stars on Trustpilot.I added some masks to my cart but did not check out and was later that day sent text messages and an email from Coco Beauty reminding me to checkout. I didn't share this info with them so can only imagine the Shop.app profile shared it with them when I added to cart, despite not agreeing for them to handle my data or contact me.I found the exact same mask on Temu as well as several other brands marketing the same product in different packaging, so can't really trust the claims made about this product in particular as the wholesaler does not make them. Overall I feel uncomfortable that the company has used my data in this way. They also state a 30 day money back guarantee but if you read their T&Cs beauty products are exempt from this and all their products are beauty products.Edit: really interesting response from the company who have failed to address their misrepresentation of claiming to have a 4.8 star TrustPilot rating whilst having 0 reviews. Even with the fake reviews they have added since my initial review they are only up to 3.8.My profile does not have my full name because I am careful about where I share my personal data, but I am verified on TP which means I have submitted photo ID to prove I am a real consumer. I feel need to be warned about or commended. Having multiple 1 star reviews (as well as other 5 star reviews) is not a 'red flag' it just means I make sure that I leave warnings about scam companies I engage with to protect future buyers- your welcome! My review was the first review on this business' page and in the 24 hours since posting they have created multiple 5 star reviews all from new accounts in order to counteract their rating. How suspicious! They also admit that they have sent me a text message despite me never agreeing to them holding my data- a clear GDPR concern. There is nothing misleading about my review, shop at your own caution. The same masks are available on Temu much cheaper, you can see from the photos that they are the same product, but haven't copied photos from the coco beauty store. It is common for brands to purchase wholesale items and put their own branding on them and do their own photos, which seems to be the case here. There are no legitimate reviews for this company, only TikTok adverts. They have even agreed with me in their reply that beauty products are case by case due to not being able to be returned, and say that there is a 30 day money back guarantee but this is contrary to what is on their page. I would recommend any buyer to use a credit card for buyer protection when engaging with this company.
