I have used TurboTax for over 10 years with great success. For 2025 taxes, their software is unacceptable. I spent days trying to walk through a underpayment of taxes and with no options to resolve. Luckily I unchecked one box and all was good. The software never took me down that path. More concerning was at the end of submitting my return, I filled out all of the forms needed for payment and thought I was all done. Maybe the IRS is slow this year, but the payment was never cleared my account. I spent hours on line talking to an AI representative the had no idea that i just wanted to see my payment receipt to the IRS. I was put on a 10 minute hold to speak to a representative, which disconnected after about 6 minutes. In desperation, I decided to pay the IRS directly and if I get double payments going to the IRS, I will not be a happy person. I can tell you I will never use Turbo Tax again. If I cant get service with a real person that might understand my question as opposed to an AI robot that has no clue as to my question is, I am done. I could never recommend Turbo Tax to anyone and it will not be my choice for submittal of 2026 taxes.
