We were paying for their 'white glove' service - getting a legit accountant, not just using the software and filing ourselves.
We have been trying for weeks and weeks now JUST TO GET AN APPOINTMENT BOOKED.
The UI is a joke - we needed to file personal and LLC taxes. It takes you in circles and clearly has bugs where you cant even get all your docs uploaded.
The first appointment turned out not even to be an account (tho we were told it would be).
The second meeting, the accountant wasn't prepped.
And the third meeting - they were just a no-show. Awful, and not exactly cheap.
It's the DMV of accounting. Go elsewhere.
For the first time, I did my taxes with TurboTax online. I usually buy the CD and use that software. When I started my return there was an offer for $159 to get expert advice from TurboTax. I need to understand how to enter that into my taxes. I selected get a call back from TurboTax. I waited about 10 minutes and received my call back. I asked the “tax professional” how to enter that information so I can get a deduction on my tax return. I explained my situation and she came back with. I am not allowed to receive a deduction for the loss I incurred because I pulled money out of my 401(k) and IRA to invest in this crypto platform. I am 63 years old. I’m retired. I’m allowed to pull money out of my IRA and 401(k) and pay the taxes on it. She told me that because I used my IRA and 401(k) I am unable to receive a deduction for that money. I explained to her that this wasn’t a rollover. This was me withdrawing money out of my account and then using that money to invest in a fraudulent crypto scheme we went back-and-forth and I tried to explain my situation in different ways, but she kept coming back with. No you cannot have a deduction for that loss. I didn’t believe her, but she told me that information again and again so I hung up just for shits and giggles. I checked Grok perplexity AI and ChatGPT at first with croc. I was told that I didn’t give them enough information but from what they got for me, the loss was not deductible. I then explain my situation in detail just like I did with the “tax professional” and I got a different answer that said in my situation, I am allowed to deduct that loss from my tax return. I then checked perplexity AI, and ChatGPT, and I received the same information I got from Grok the second time. I am allowed to deduct that loss on my tax return. So paying $159 for expert tax help is just a scam because they just hire anybody and give them a computer and tell them how to search. I called TurboTax to find out how I can transfer the information. I’ve already entered to a new return without paying that $159 fee. I asked to speak to a supervisor because the “tax professional” was unable to answer my question. I sat on hold for over 10 minutes and I got a another “tax professional” instead of a supervisor. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she put me on hold and I waited another seven minutes. She came back and told me that in this company we do not transfer you to supervisors. I got upset and told her that this is bullshit. She told me I’m not allowed to use derogatory terms. I told her that I was not using the word bullshit in a derogatory way I was explaining how ridiculous that rule is that they have basically they’re just washing their hands of any responsibility as I was explaining that to her she hung up on me. This company does not care about the people that purchased their software. They only care about making money and giving you bad information.
I'm in the process of having them do my taxes this year. The professional Jennifer L. started off great. But last week after sending her all my documents she just ghosted me.
I called and received a call back from their 'talk now' link and was told I'd receive a call back within a day. When this did not happen I again asked for a call back.
THAT WAS TWO DAYS AGO. And I've heard nothing.
AVOID THIS SERVICE AT ALL COST, LIKE THE FRIGGEN PLAGUE
Very bad and overpriced and will never use again. I will also advise everyone I know to not use them. No wonder the FTC found they used deceptive practices in 2022. They're still doing it.

AFTER MANY YEARS ... I MUST GO TO THE COMPETITION NEXT TIME AND FROM HERE ON SINCE THEY HAVE DECEIVED ME BY HIDING THE LOWER PRICES .

This is the worst TB ever. Filled with errors, suddenly asks you to sign in in the middle of preparation, did not bring all the information from prior years, missing state codes, and more. Never use TB again.
At first it was great. I 'supposedly' did my taxes in one afternoon with someone over the phone (full service) on 2/6/26. She was great but she didn't turn in one of the forms and my taxes got rejected. That tax advisor completely disappeared and did not answer my multiple texts sent through their messages system. I finally called customer service and got another person who was great, but now she doesn't respond to my chats either. I imagine these people are underpaid and overworked. The form that was not submitted has still not been submitted. Hence, I am still waiting to hear back from tax advisor number two. I just want this resolved! It is now 2/22/26. I got a special deal to file by 2/28. Of course now I'm wondering if they are going to say it's after 2/28, and we had to resubmit your taxes and your charge will now be double.
I like the ease of use and the accuracy of TurboTax. I dislike that Turbotax forces you into using and paying for assistance when I did not want assistance. I called the help desk and they told me to delete my cache which I did then after ten minutes of listening to the customer service agent type they said I would not be charged for the service and hung up on me. I was charged so they were wrong.
I called customer service and told them I did not want expert assist for $400 added to my purchase. They told me to pay and they will reimburse me immediately. I did. Then they said I have to call back in 24 hours to wait for the payment to process. Not excited to hear that, I corresponded. 24 hrs later they said I purchased it, they have no record of the call and refused to reimburse me. I will never use them again. They stole from me as far as I am concerned.
I tried to install the desktop version on PC. Could not do it without disabling virus software, support person recommended online version. Tried online version, could not figure out how to enter estimated state taxes paid, kept getting contradictory answers via Chat. Then kept giving me step-by-step instructions which never quite matched my screens. Finally after many many false starts, support person realized that ten online version does not support putting state estimated taxes into the return!!!!!!!
