Just had a horrible experience with Uber Eats!!! Normally I never order from Uber. I’ve worked at restaurants and myself and my colleagues witnessed Uber eats drivers eating from customer’s food orders in the parking lot! Yes, they likely have dug into your food too if you’re ordering regularly! No jokes. My husband wanted to try the app and….The delivery driver attempted to steal my food order worth $100 in front of me! They apparently had 2 deliveries in my building. The other was a bottle of wine. The guy only brought the bottle of wine and tried to make me accept it! I refused and asked the guy to bring my order before it got cold. The driver actually refused! He insisted on delivering the wine first. After 5 minutes of this driver’s diversion, I called my husband and immediately the driver overheard, turned around, finally went back to his vehicle and got the order. My husband waited for it this time. If he wasn’t there, the driver would have taken off with my order in front of my face! Uber Eats is no better! I contacted customer service to change the tip amount to $0 since the driver tried so obviously to steal my order. Uber eats customer service initially apologized for my experience and promised the tip amount would be returned to me. When I checked my account later on, barely any money was returned to me at all! I contacted them again and another agent replied with wanting me to prove I even made an order that I paid for. Customer service already has all this info because I contacted them from inside my account. I sent proof just to humor the agent. And proof of the so-called “return” to my account that clearly was not honoured. They had the audacity to tell me I would not be reimbursed the tip amount for terrible service!!! I deleted my account immediately and will NEVER deal with Uber Eats or anything Uber again. Be warned- DO NOT WASTE your hard earned TIME or MONEY on Uber Eats!!! There’s no recourse. Terrible customer service!!!! And unsafe too! You have no idea who you’re dealing with, there’s no screening process. There’s even a section on the platform to report incidents of Violence! If that’s not enough, they also know exactly where you are located because they save IP addresses. If someone working with Uber wants to harm you, they’ll likely try. And they act like the customers are criminal instead of taking any responsibility for unethical practices. Hoping to save you the trouble for convenience. It comes at a price. If you insist, however, use that B.S. platform at your own risk! Ps. Door Dash has never been a problem for me or anyone I know. That would likely be a safer option! Try Door Dash instead if you want more reliable delivery.
