One of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. I placed an urgent Uber Eats order because my kitchen wasn’t working and I needed to feed my kids before bedtime. The delivery driver was rude, unprofessional, and never delivered to my correct address, even though it was entered correctly in the app. Instead, he marked the order as “delivered” and uploaded a meaningless “secure location” photo. For all I know, he could have just taken the food home with him. When I contacted Uber Eats, the app support was robotic and dismissive. No real human took responsibility, and the system simply hid behind policy, claiming that because a photo was uploaded, the delivery was considered complete. The only people who showed genuine care were the restaurant staff themselves, who were sympathetic and shocked at how Uber Eats handled this. This was not a luxury treat, it was an urgent need. Instead of help, I was left stressed, without food, and After a long fight of messaging back and forth to silence me they gave me a refund with nothing but an automated refund process that takes up to 30 days to return money I should never have lost in the first place.Uber Eats needs to review its maps system, its driver accountability, and its so-called “secure drop-off” policy, which currently allows drivers to abuse the system with zero consequences. At the very least, I expected an apology but what I got was deflection and silence.A refund alone is not enough. This was a complete service failure, and Uber Eats needs to take customer care much more seriously.
