A nurse was assigned to my son's case, but I had to specifically ask other nurses to see her for the discharge summary. She seemed unhappy that I approached her directly. When she finally came to us, she removed the IV cannula that my son had for two days. After attempting to take a blood sample, she returned to say it had clotted and tried again, wasting blood on her gloves. A junior doctor then tried to draw blood but caused my son significant pain. Despite his distress, the doctor insisted on another attempt. Eventually, I received a discharge summary stating the earlier sample had worked, but I felt both the doctor and nurse lacked compassion and professionalism. My son's experience was marred by unnecessary suffering, and despite inquiries, I still don't have the test results.
