I have always used YouView boxes before, This is a FVP 5000T HD Freeview box and frankly, since I bought it, I consider it not been fit for purpose. It’s purpose being to record TV programs via The Box or via the app. The TV Guide is useless showing no program information on most of TV channels hence, you cannot set any recordings. Consequently, I hardly used it until recently I decided to try again. Having done a factory reset and deleted all but 48 channels I can now use the TV Guide. The app never worked properly, deleted and downloaded again but now cannot find box. It requires a registration code, but the option is not available in the settings. Now told to do another factory reset and reset all the box up again including the network settings. This is so long winded, I have wasted all morning doing it and I’m not prepared to do another factory reset and waste even more time. I’ll delete the app and forget about it. Probably won’t work properly again anyway. I thought technology was supposed to save time instead all it does is waste my time. I am not impressed with this box and I certainly won’t buy another unless I get a guarantee that it will actually work without having to do multiple factory resets and even then I I’m not sure I would trust it to work, I don’t have the time.
