Very pleased with my purchase but disappointed that is still needs to be plugged into an aerial as it is a Freely box which uses the Internet. I was going to purchase a further box for my partner who has no aerial only satellite TV. But it would be useless.
I bought a Humax Aura a couple of years ago. It allows me to record TV programmes and watch when we want. It is a fantastic machine. It has huge capacity and is very easy to use. I had an issue (not a fault) and I emailed them. They replied quickly with the solution. I would buy another, if it died. It would be 5 stars, but it has some bugs that the updates have not solved.
I recently purchased the Humax FHR-6000T. I would advise anyone thinking of buying this, DON'T. Its absolute rubbish. I sent an email to Humax support which was not acknowledged or even responded to. Disgusting levels of support as well as inferior products.
Here are some of the issues i discovered within 1 hour of setting the box up:-
- The volume is extremely low. I have ensured the set top box is at it's maximum volume, i.e. 15. I have the box connected to a Denon AVR and I have to increase the volume of my AVR to at least 45 on the receiver. Strangely enough, this applies to BBC1 and BBC2. When moving to the other channels I then have to reduce the volume as it's too loud. It requires constant adjustment on my AVR.
- Whilst watching Freely the channel numbers are all in a logical order, 1/2/3/4/5 respectively. When not watching Freely and watching TV via the aerial I get 1/2/4 & 5. ITV 1 has moved to 233. I cannot find a way to move that so that I don't have to punch in 233 to watch ITV every time.
- On the Remote there is a FREELY button. However, I cannot navigate between FREELY and aerial tv ONLY. This would have been SO MUCH BETTER.
- When using Freely and moving between channels the subtitles on ITV are massive. The other channels have a normal size subtitle.
- Navigating to the support web site, this set top box is not even listed. That's poor considering you have now the item on sale generally.
- The interface is rather clunky and slow to navigate.
- To access recordings there are a large number of key presses required.
- Whilst trying to record TV programmes using the recording guide, there is no way to skip to another day without scrolling through the 24 hours of programmes. Likewise, it's missing a search function within this.
- When will the App be released to enable setting remote recordings?
Seriously who ever signed off on this to be released to the public needs to be sacked.
Humax customer support email Address uksupport(a)humax-digital.co.uk keeps returning a delivery failure. Also I've tried 3 times to register the warranty but the submit button fails to work. Finally on the new aura ez set top box there is an issue with the recording guide not being populated with a schedule as well as and bbc2 and itv are not where they should be
I have just received the new Aura Ez. On set up, there is a software update, so far so good. I got all the way through to "Setup Complete" then it just keeps returning to accept Humax end user agreement. I have tried a hard reset and the same thing happens.I was in two minds about buying this after all the issues on release of the last Aura, but I thought, no, Humax will have learned. Obviously not!Absolutely unbelievable launching a product that has obviously not been fully tested. Still waiting for a response from customer service.

I rang Humax for help with my new remote control and a gentleman called Marcus was so helpful talked me through some things to do. He then sent me an email explaining ways to also be able me to turn the television on and off which has been a marvellous help as I am older and disabled. I am just so pleased I could not have done this on my own.
