I recently purchased the Humax FHR-6000T. I would advise anyone thinking of buying this, DON'T. Its absolute rubbish. I sent an email to Humax support which was not acknowledged or even responded to. Disgusting levels of support as well as inferior products.
Here are some of the issues i discovered within 1 hour of setting the box up:-
- The volume is extremely low. I have ensured the set top box is at it's maximum volume, i.e. 15. I have the box connected to a Denon AVR and I have to increase the volume of my AVR to at least 45 on the receiver. Strangely enough, this applies to BBC1 and BBC2. When moving to the other channels I then have to reduce the volume as it's too loud. It requires constant adjustment on my AVR.
- Whilst watching Freely the channel numbers are all in a logical order, 1/2/3/4/5 respectively. When not watching Freely and watching TV via the aerial I get 1/2/4 & 5. ITV 1 has moved to 233. I cannot find a way to move that so that I don't have to punch in 233 to watch ITV every time.
- On the Remote there is a FREELY button. However, I cannot navigate between FREELY and aerial tv ONLY. This would have been SO MUCH BETTER.
- When using Freely and moving between channels the subtitles on ITV are massive. The other channels have a normal size subtitle.
- Navigating to the support web site, this set top box is not even listed. That's poor considering you have now the item on sale generally.
- The interface is rather clunky and slow to navigate.
- To access recordings there are a large number of key presses required.
- Whilst trying to record TV programmes using the recording guide, there is no way to skip to another day without scrolling through the 24 hours of programmes. Likewise, it's missing a search function within this.
- When will the App be released to enable setting remote recordings?
Seriously who ever signed off on this to be released to the public needs to be sacked.
