I approached UK Energy Saving Network Ltd because I believed I would receive the best possible advice and have peace of mind that my loft insulation would be carried out to the highest standard. Unfortunately, the reality is that I received neither.
Their website states, “Even if your loft is a mess, we’ll leave it spotless.” Sadly, this promise did not reflect my experience at all.
During the survey, their representative noted builders’ rubble in the loft, but I was never offered the option to have it cleared (even at extra cost). Apparanatley it was down to me to ask for the loft to be cleared of all debris (& "left spotless")! After installation, the loft was left far from “spotless”. Had I simply been given the choice, I would happily have paid or cleared it myself.
More seriously, during the installation several upstairs lights stopped working. The installer suggested a possible cable issue but didn’t resolve it. My electrician later found that a cable had been pulled out of a junction box during the works.
There were also basic care issues — not removing shoes before carpet protection was laid and leaving the loft hatch dirtier than before.
When I complained, the response focused largely on what I should have requested, rather than taking responsibility for the expectations set by their own advertising. They have since said they will “review the wording” on their website, which speaks for itself.
Overall, the workmanship, attention to detail, and complaint handling fell well below what was promised. I would not recommend.
