I am constantly being harassed over a debt owed to the water provider, of which I am still a customer. Referring me to debt collectors was inappropriate, especially since unpaid water bills aren't classified as priority debts. This can complicate access to help from local councils or charities. The water company and the collection agency don't mention this, which is unethical. I have paid more than half of the debt, acknowledged by the water company, yet the collection agency continues to pursue me. I've blocked them, so now they leave increasingly desperate voicemails for a debt that no longer exists.
